Visit to the exhibition "Berenice Abbott. Retratos de la modernidad" at the Sala Fundación MAPFRE Casa Garriga Nogués

Fecha de inicio:
7 March 2019

Last Thursday, March 7th, the collaborators of the MACBA Foundation attended a guided tour to the exhibition Berenice Abbott. Retratos de la modernidad at the Sala Fundación MAPFRE Casa Garriga Nogués.  The display gets close to the work of the North American photographer Berenice Abbott (Springfield, 1898 – Monson, 1991), who connected the effervescent cultural centres of Paris and New York during the 20s and 30s. The exhibition, curated by Estrella de Diego, member of the MACBA International Advisory Committee, offers an overview through three main topics in Abbott’s work: portraits, science and cities. Her legacy is a valuable visual witness of the 20th century modernity, which the MAPFRE Foundation displays now thanks to several sources from important North American collections.
